Other important features of ChiefMentor Communication programs:

Most training programs have these characteristics, and fail to provide the expected results. Therefore, there is a reluctance among training executives to conduct serious “English & Communication Programs” in their organizations.

Cognitive Educational psychology specifies the important requirements of an effective second language acquisition training program. Important requirements are listed below. Compare them with the unique features of ChiefMentor programs and any other program that you have access to.

Not long ago, Peter Drucker, father of modern management famously said, “Sixty percent of all management problems result from faulty communications.” Surveys after surveys reveal that the situation remains the same.

Miscommunication is at the heart of most of the conflicts and crises in the workplace. We all think that ‘My English is Good’ and ‘I communicate well’ and other people are at fault (‘He needs to undergo a communication training as his English is not good’). We frequently say, ‘ They do not say clearly what they mean and they do not listen’.

It takes certain level of English to get right answers in a Google search, to understand what a customer or client is saying, or to read through and decipher what a document ‘actually ‘says.

John Powell said, “Communication works for those who work at it.” Every successful CEO has a number and variety of dictionaries in their bookshelves, computers, tablets and smart-phones.

Each word represents a different idea. People with higher vocabulary have more ideas! Besides this, an improved vocabulary means you sound intelligent. Most smart people have an excellent vocabulary. They speak well and use the right words.

No wonder, executives with better English grows fast and take more salary home.

Just before 2008 American Presidential Election, Barak Obama, the Democratic Presidential candidate went through a two-week training program on communication skills. For Mr. Obama, English is his mother tongue. He was born and bought up in English neighbourhoods, and Studied at Harvard. He already had an enviable reputation as a great orator. Still he felt the need of enhancing his communication skills.

As they say, ‘Rich gets Richer’. Executives with good communication skills become great executives.

Average executives believe ‘my English is good’, even though they can’t persuade, argue, motivate, or present a new idea in English! They don’t try to enhance English skills even though their career depends on their command of English. No wonder new ideas never come from them. Genuine concerns of their teams are never conveyed in management meetings. These managers are hesitant and afraid. Their teams and families suffer.

These managers blame “office politics” and “company policies” for their failures!

On November 19th, 1863, at the Soldier Memorial dedication ceremony at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Abraham Lincoln was not the main speaker. It was Edward Everett, who spoke for about two hours! Lincoln three minutes!  This three minute speech is still considered as the best oration in history.
